How to cancel Xbox Game Pass

Xbox Game Pass subscriptions are managed through your Microsoft account. After turning off auto-renewal or canceling, your Game Pass benefits continue through the end of the current subscription period. Once the period ends, games in the Game Pass catalog that you have not purchased outright become unplayable.

You can manage your subscription at account.microsoft.com or through the Xbox console settings.

Steps

Sign in to your Microsoft account
Go to account.microsoft.com and sign in with the Microsoft account linked to your Xbox Game Pass subscription.
Navigate to Services & Subscriptions
Click 'Services & subscriptions' to see your active Microsoft subscriptions.
Find Xbox Game Pass
Locate your Xbox Game Pass (or Xbox Game Pass Ultimate) subscription in the list.
Turn off recurring billing or Cancel
Click 'Cancel' or find the option to turn off recurring billing. Microsoft may present offers to keep the subscription before completing the cancellation.
Confirm cancellation
Confirm your choice. Your Game Pass benefits continue through the end of the current period.
